Christians Against Poverty
Many Burlington residents are facing debt crisis:
As rising interest rates and the cost of housing and goods continue to soar, many people are finding themselves unable to meet their basic bills or debt commitments. Credit reporting agency TransUnion surveyed 956 Canadian adults and found that 32 % of respondents expected to be unable to pay their current bills or loans in full. (July 7, 2023)
Food bank use remains at an all-time high with 2023 marking the sixth consecutive year of food bank use increases. Many families in Burlington have become discouraged.
Free help from a caring community:
Groundswell is a community of people who believe that loving each other and our neighbours is our highest Christian calling. We understand that the economy and work force changes have thrown many families into financial territory that they never dreamed they would face. We’re a church sensitive to individuals and family’s struggling with financial strain and debt, and we’re here to help.
