Prepare for Prayer

After prayer, both personal and corporate, about how God wanted Groundswell to approach 2021, we heard it clear that we were to make it a year of prayer. Prayer is not simply asking things of God (though He is gracious and eager to hear and bless us), it is a conversation with God. God speaks to us through many different means and asks us to be silent in His presence to hear His still small voice. We begin the New Year with a sermon series geared towards getting us prepared for prayer. We pray that this will allow us to follow up the Covid annum with a year of fervid crying out to God. We will be hearing testimonies from the community about the ways they pray and stories of God answering prayer, and from the pulpit, we will delve into passages that take us to a higher spiritual altitude, past the simple prayer platitudes and into an ever-present attitude of gratitude.
